The Egyptian Medicines Authority decided to seize and seize fraudulent packages of Coloverin-D, a drug used to treat irritable bowel syndrome and relieve cramps and digestive disorders.

The authority said that the counterfeit containers for which the decision was issued bear batch numbers 250093A, 251339A, and 2513027A, explaining that this warning concerns these batches only and does not apply to the product circulating in the market in general.
The Egyptian Medicines Authority confirmed that it decided to stop trading, seizing and seizing counterfeit containers of the aforementioned product, based on a statement from the company that owns the product regarding the presence of non-original quantities in some pharmacies and markets.
The Authority stressed that in the event of doubt about medicine packages, pharmacists and citizens must immediately contact the Egyptian Medicines Authority via the hotline 15301 or through the Authority’s official website, where detailed pictures of counterfeit packages can be viewed via the link designated for that.
The authority called on all pharmacies and distribution companies to verify the safety of operations before dispensing or handling, and to take the necessary measures to ensure that adulterated containers are not leaked to patients, stressing that this measure comes within the framework of the authority’s efforts to protect public health and combat drug fraud.
