In the presence and support of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Ali Al Khalifa, Governor of the Southern Governorate, the Southern Governorate celebrated the International Cancer Control Month on the Madinat Zayed Walk, as part of the Governorate’s efforts to enhance health and awareness participation to achieve the principle of community partnership in various global events, in the presence of His Excellency Brigadier General Hamad Mohammed Al Khayyat, Deputy Governor and a number of officials and officers, and with the participation of government agencies that included: the Municipality of the Southern Region, and the Department of Health Affairs. Social and Social Affairs, the Sports Federation for Public Security at the Ministry of Interior, the Health Promotion Department at the Ministry of Health, the Health Genome Center and a number of civil society institutions, and the Muscle Aid Clinic for physical therapy and pro boxing, as part of the governorate’s efforts to deserve the title of the southern governorate as a healthy governorate. On this occasion, His Highness the Governor stressed that holding this event aims to enhance health awareness, in a way that serves community partnership frameworks, supports the governorate’s goals and messages to serve the community, and demonstrates its cooperation with various relevant institutions and associations. His Highness said that the event is consistent with the governorate’s efforts to raise the level of health in society, especially by increasing awareness and education, especially since the governorate deserves to follow the most prominent developments at the governorate level, and to identify the needs of the people in the health and community aspects within its goals for sustainable development and its continuing efforts to serve the people and citizens. The event included a health awareness exhibition and a walking exercise with community and community participation. The attendees appreciated the Southern Governorate’s efforts to spread awareness within the framework of participating in the International Month (October) for health awareness and supporting health initiatives by all available means.
