The Gulf University launched the first episode of its new program, “Gulf Podcast,” hosted by the poet Sheikh Ahmed bin Hamad Al Khalifa, during an event held in the university’s television studio, with the participation of a group of its students who took over the tasks of filming, editing, and full artistic production of the episode.

University President, Professor Muhannad Al-Firas, said that “Gulf Podcast” will be a vital platform for youth creativity and expression in Bahrain and the Arab Gulf.

Professor Muhannad Al-Faras expressed his pride in the launch of this project, saying: “The Gulf podcast represents a unique experience that combines applied education and cultural creativity, as our students are responsible for the complete production of the episodes, from photography to montage and directing, while the program hosts distinguished poets from the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Arab Gulf countries.”

He added, “We believe in the importance of empowering young people to create sophisticated media content that reflects the identity and cultural values of the Gulf,” indicating that the Gulf University seeks, through these initiatives, to enhance the presence of students in the national media scene, and provide them with practical skills that are in line with the requirements of the labor market.

He pointed out that the university is committed to supporting initiatives that enhance interaction between students and society, explaining that the program will include various episodes covering poetry, arts, literature and youth issues, to be a dialogue platform that contributes to enriching the local and Gulf cultural scene.

He pointed out that the success of the first episode constitutes an important step towards achieving this vision, considering that the participation of students in all stages of production is an invaluable educational experience.

He explained that the goal of the program is to enable students to engage in the practical media process, and to acquire skills in producing digital content and managing talk shows, in a way that enhances their creative abilities and prepares them for the modern media labor market.

“Gulf Podcast” aims to provide a creative space that combines poetry, culture, and youth media, by hosting an elite group of Bahraini and Gulf poets in dialogue sessions rich in inspiration and creativity, produced entirely under the supervision of specialized academic staff from the university.

The inaugural episode hosted the poet Sheikh Ahmed bin Hamad Al Khalifa, who spoke about his poetic experience and his career in enriching the Gulf literary scene, praising university initiatives that give young people real opportunities to express themselves through modern media tools.

The College of Communication and Media Technologies at Gulf University announced the launch of its podcast studio, during the activities of the Arab Forum for Artificial Intelligence in Higher Education, which was organized by the university in cooperation with the British “Times Higher Education” organization, with the participation of international experts who discussed the prospects for artificial intelligence in developing education systems.

It is noteworthy that the College of Communication and Media Technologies at Gulf University is considered the first media college in the Kingdom of Bahrain, and is one of the most prominent specialized colleges in the region, as it offers advanced academic programs that meet the needs of the labor market in the field of media and communication.

It is worth noting that the College of Communication and Media Technologies holds membership in the Association of Colleges of Journalism and Mass Communication (ASJMC), and international professional accreditation from the British Royal Institute of Public Relations (CIPR), making media at Gulf University the second academic program in the Middle East to obtain this international accreditation.
