The Finance Committee of the Muharraq Municipal Council recommended the acquisition of two properties, one at the entrance to Arad to be allocated as a public facility aimed at increasing the green area, and the other in Block 216 to expand parking.
The committee held its third meeting within the fourth session of the sixth legislative term, headed by Fadel Al-Oud, where it discussed a number of development and service files that affect the lives of citizens and contribute to serving the public interest.
The committee recommended the acquisition of a property in a strategic location at the entrance to the city of Arad to be allocated as a public facility aimed at increasing the green area and improving the quality of life, in line with the national afforestation plan and the Kingdom’s efforts to protect the environment and beautify the urban landscape.
The committee also recommended the acquisition of a property in Complex 216 to expand parking lots, in support of the initiative of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of the country, within the framework of the policy of opening historical areas in old Muharraq and encouraging the return of residents to them.
On the other hand, the committee followed up on the file of the vital Ras Raya Port, in order to enhance the efforts of the representative of the Sixth District in providing basic services, especially electricity and water, to enable the port to perform its vital role in supporting maritime activities.
The committee also discussed a comprehensive plan to address the phenomenon of stray dogs and cats due to the health and behavioral risks and financial burdens they pose, stressing the importance of adopting humane and sustainable solutions that guarantee the safety of society and the environment.
