The Bahrain Khair Product Center, affiliated with the Royal Humanitarian Foundation, participated in the Kingdom of Bahrain’s pavilion within the activities of the 61st Charity Bazaar for the Diplomatic Corps of Umm Al Hussein, which was held in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, in cooperation with the Embassy of the Kingdom of Bahrain in Jordan, and under the patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Basma bint Talal, Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Jordanian National Commission for Women’s Affairs.

The Khair Bahrain Product Center was represented in the participation by craftswomen Amal Marhoon and Bushra Ibrahim, under the supervision of Maryam Al-Barjas, the Foundation’s charitable and humanitarian programs specialist. The center displayed a group of locally made products, including: clothing and pieces embroidered with the “Naqda” art, prayer rugs, and a group of accessories.

In this context, Roaa Salem Bu Asali, head of the Khair Bahrain Product Center, confirmed that the participation of women craftsmen in this bazaar represents a unique opportunity to display their work before an international audience, and gives them a unique experience to learn about the cultures and crafts of other countries, in addition to introducing Bahraini handicrafts that express the originality and distinction of the Khair Bahrain product.

Bouasali praised the efforts and follow-up of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Bahrain in Jordan, headed by Sheikh Khalifa bin Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, in coordinating the participation and providing the necessary support for its success.

She added that the participation was admired by the bazaar goers and representatives of the participating embassies because it included distinctive Bahraini products made by national hands from members of the Bahrain Khair Product Center.

It is worth noting that the annual bazaar for the diplomatic corps witnessed the participation of 46 embassies and diplomatic agencies accredited to the Royal Hashemite Court in Jordan, where the participating entities displayed products that express the heritage and culture of their countries. The proceeds from the sales of the Umm Al Hussein lamp are allocated to support orphan children who face difficult family circumstances, and a portion of the sales of the Khair Al Bahrain product is allocated to support the participating women craftsmen.
