The Governor of the Eastern Province in Saudi Arabia honored, in his office today, Jaber bin Saeed Al Salem and Mamdouh bin Abdullah Al-Khalaf, in the presence of the Director of Civil Defense in the Eastern Province, Major General Majid Al-Mozan, in appreciation of their heroic behavior in extinguishing a fire that broke out in a commercial store in Jubail Governorate.

His Highness the Emir of the Eastern Province praised the quick response and courage shown by the two citizens, stressing that these positions embody the courage and awareness that characterize the people of the country, and reflect the authentic values of Saudi society based on solidarity and effort to protect lives and property.
Details of the incident
The incident occurred after the dawn prayer, when Jaber Al-Yami noticed smoke rising from a commercial store while returning from exercising with his colleague Mamdouh Al-Shammari. He called to find out if anyone was inside the store, then sought the help of his colleague to break the lock and enter to put out the fire.
Fast documentation and rescue
Al-Yami stated that he documented the incident on his phone to avoid any confusion, stressing that he dealt with caution because the fire was close to cars and residential shops. He added that he contacted the security authorities and civil defense immediately after the fire was brought under control, but he suffered minor suffocation and was subsequently transferred to the hospital to receive treatment for 12 hours.
A heroic attitude and gratitude for the honour
The two citizens expressed their thanks and appreciation to the Emir of the Eastern Province for honoring and receiving them, stressing that what they did was a national and humanitarian duty stemming from belonging to this dear country, and that saving lives and property is a responsibility borne by every citizen.
