
Professor Nawal Ibrahim Al Khater, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education, representing the delegation of the Kingdom of Bahrain, participated in the opening of the forty-third session of the General Conference of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), held in the city of Samarkand in the Republic of Uzbekistan with the participation of representatives of 194 member states of the organization.
The conference, which continues until the thirteenth of November, aims to discuss future policies and programs that enhance UNESCO’s role in achieving sustainable development and building knowledge societies.
During the opening session of the General Conference, its agenda was approved, and its president, vice-presidents, committee chairmen and rapporteurs were elected.
