
The General Traffic Department launched the pilot phase of a project to install (500) smart cameras, as part of its plans to enhance traffic safety.
The experimental phase includes installing a number of cameras in selected locations, with the aim of evaluating their performance, technical efficiency, and extent of integration with applicable electronic systems, in preparation for expanding the scope of the project in various regions of the Kingdom.
This step comes within the framework of the General Traffic Department’s ongoing efforts to raise the level of road safety and enhance traffic control by employing the latest smart technologies that contribute to improving the quality of services and developing field performance.
