The Monastery of the Great Martyr George Al-Amer in Jabal Al-Rizeigat, west of Luxor Governorate, announced the start of the first activities of the annual season of celebrations for the martyr George, tomorrow, Sunday, based on the instructions of His Eminence Bishop Markus, Metropolitan of Shubra Al-Kheima, and the papal vicar of the monastery and the complex of monks.
The monastery explained, in an official statement issued today, Saturday, that tomorrow will witness the holding of the first wedding of the great martyr St. George as an additional day of celebration, to serve as the official start of the days of the season, which extends over seven consecutive days, and attracts thousands of visitors from various governorates of Upper Egypt to participate in religious rituals and church events inside and around the monastery.

The statement confirmed that the monastery administration has completed its preparations to receive the participants, in cooperation with the security, health and regulatory agencies, to ensure the smooth flow of movement inside and outside the monastery, and to provide the necessary services to maintain the safety of visitors and perform rituals in an organized and safe atmosphere.
