In joint literary and artistic creativity at Muharraq Primary School for Girls, student Reem Mohammed Abdulaziz shone with her talent in drawing in a series of lively educational stories, written by science teacher Ms. Bayan Abdulaziz Al Aswami, under the title (Our Science is a Story), which serves the science curriculum for the fifth grade of primary school, and is in line with the goals of sustainable development.
The series includes six stories: (Schools that Embrace Nature), (A Call to Life), (Walls of Hope), (Who Lives in the Core), (A Voice from the Heart of Nature), and (A Day in the Life of Carbon), which address various scientific and awareness-raising topics such as the importance of preserving the environment, protecting ecosystems, recycling, the concept of the atom, and the role of carbon in life, in addition to promoting individual responsibility in maintaining environmental balance.
Professor Bayan Al-Aswamy explained that the idea of the series was based on her deep belief in the role of education in building a sustainable human being and a global citizen capable of thinking and creativity, so that her stories would be an enjoyable educational window that enriches students’ understanding and ignites the spark of discovery in them.
For her part, the student Reem expressed her happiness in participating in the implementation of the drawings for the series, stressing that this experience had enabled her to combine her artistic talent with scientific lessons, and she extended her thanks to her family who supported her, and to her teacher who gave her the confidence and opportunity to highlight her creativity in educational work that serves education and the environment together.
