
Ahmed bin Salman Al Muslim, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Parliamentary Division of the Kingdom of Bahrain, and Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, Speaker of the Shura Council, received today (Wednesday) Saqr Ghobash, Speaker of the Federal National Council of the sisterly United Arab Emirates, to participate in the work of the nineteenth regular meeting of the heads of the legislative councils of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, which is hosted by the Kingdom of Bahrain during the period from 11 to 13 November.
During the reception, the Speakers of the Shura and Representatives Councils welcomed the visit of His Excellency Mr. Saqr Ghobash and the accompanying delegation, stressing the depth of the strong fraternal relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the State of the Emirates, and the continuous development they are witnessing, thanks to the high patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the great King of the country, and his brother His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the sisterly United Arab Emirates. The importance of strengthening parliamentary coordination was also stressed. Gulf Cooperation Council, and unify positions on regional and international issues, in a way that enhances the effectiveness of joint legislative work and supports the Cooperation Council’s march towards greater integration and sustainable development.
For his part, Saqr Ghobash, Speaker of the Federal National Council, expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Kingdom of Bahrain for the good hosting and organization, praising the prominent role played by the Bahraini Parliamentary Division in supporting the process of Gulf parliamentary work, and stressing that these meetings represent an opportunity to exchange visions and coordinate legislative efforts in a way that serves the interests of Gulf countries and peoples.
