Dina El-Sherbiny’s crisis and Sabry’s time
The network’s management affirms its commitment to media work standards and the professional code of honor and does not accept any transgression against any party during its programs.
The artist, Dina El-Sherbiny’s lawyer, filed a complaint with the Supreme Media Council against the broadcaster Marwa Sabry, presenter of the Aadet Settat program, and the Al-Youm channel, affiliated with the AlfaTV.com network, after broadcasting an episode that included – according to the text of the complaint – offensive expressions and incitement of public opinion against his client. It also contained indecent words and accusations affecting her personal and artistic reputation.
The lawyer explained in his complaint that the broadcaster, Marwa Sabry, spoke about the artist, Dina El-Sherbiny, in a sarcastic and satirical manner, displaying a number of statements that were described as including insults, slander, and inappropriate suggestions, including accusing her of having relationships with married men and vandalizing homes, as he put it.
He pointed out that the aforementioned episode was broadcast on Al-Youm TV, and clips of it were also published on social media sites, including the program’s official page on Instagram and TikTok, which, according to the complaint, contributed to distorting the artist’s image in front of the public.
