The President of the Association of Travel Agencies praises the development of tourism relations with Oman

Mrs. Fatima Ahmed, President of the Bahraini Travel and Tourism Offices Association, praised the rapid growth witnessed in tourism relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Sultanate of Oman, expressing her pride in the historical ties that unite the two brotherly peoples.

This came in a statement on the occasion of the Sultanate’s celebration of National Day, where the president of the association extended her sincere congratulations on behalf of the members of the Board of Directors and all the association’s members to the government and the Omani people.

Ahmed said: “Tourism relations between Bahrain and the Sultanate of Oman are witnessing great growth and development, which reflects the vision of the leadership in both countries to enhance cooperation and cultural interaction. Celebrating the Sultanate’s National Day represents a wonderful opportunity to renew the covenant between our two peoples and strengthen fraternal ties.”

The president of the association pointed out the importance of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s recent visit to the Sultanate of Oman, which contributed to strengthening tourism and economic relations between the two countries, adding: “During this visit, a number of cooperation agreements were signed in various sectors, including the tourism sector. Mrs. Ahmed also highlighted the development witnessed by the Sultanate of Oman in the tourism sector, as she stressed that the Sultanate has become a favorite destination for visitors thanks to its natural diversity and rich culture.

She added: “We are witnessing new tourism projects that highlight the beauty and history of Oman, in addition to the government’s investment in infrastructure development, which contributes to attracting more tourists.”

In a related context, Mrs. Ahmed stressed the importance of the unified visa between the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, noting its pivotal role in facilitating travel and enhancing tourism cooperation, explaining: “This visa will contribute to increasing the movement of tourists between the Gulf countries in general, which enhances opportunities for cooperation and the development of sustainable tourism.”

She pointed out that the Bahraini Travel and Tourism Offices Association is looking forward to cooperating with the Oman Tourism Authority through joint promotion of tourism in the Sultanate of Oman, and the creation of tourism programs that attract more visitors from the Kingdom of Bahrain.

She stressed that tourism plays a vital role in the economy, explaining that strengthening cooperation between Bahrain and Oman will help achieve the economic and social development plans of both countries, pointing out that there are future initiatives that reflect the commitment of both sides to developing joint tourism, such as organizing exhibitions and cultural events that promote tourism experiences in Bahrain and Oman.
