The Ministry of Works signs an agreement with the Singapore Cooperation Corporation (SCE) to prepare a comprehensive plan to develop the road network

The Ministry of Works signed an agreement with the Singapore Cooperation Corporation (SCE), which specializes in smart solutions and traffic management, to prepare a comprehensive plan to evaluate and analyze traffic congestions in the Kingdom of Bahrain, and develop a special strategy to reduce them. The agreement aims to prepare an integrated traffic plan in cooperation with the concerned authorities, which contributes to improving the efficiency of the transportation network and supporting the goals of sustainable urban development.

On this occasion, Engineer Sheikh Mishal bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Works, confirmed that the agreement comes within the framework of the Ministry’s efforts aimed at enhancing the efficiency of the transportation network and keeping pace with urban expansion and population growth in the Kingdom, by adopting innovative solutions that contribute to improving the flow of traffic and improving the quality of infrastructure.

The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Works explained that the work plan that will be implemented will focus on analyzing current traffic data, evaluating the performance of the road network, and developing practical recommendations that can be implemented in the short, medium, and long term. He stressed that the Ministry seeks, through this initiative, to enhance integration between land use planning and transportation networks, and develop modern traffic policies, in line with the government’s directions aimed at building more sustainable and resilient cities.

The agreement was signed in the presence of Engineer Ahmed Sami Al-Tajer, Assistant Undersecretary for Roads at the Ministry, Mr. Kong Moon, Executive Director of the company, and Mr. Evan Shih, General Manager of the company for the Middle East and North Africa.
