His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of the country, may God protect and preserve him, in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, may God protect him, received at Sakhir Palace today, His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim bin the late Sultan Iskandar, King of the sister Kingdom of Malaysia, who is on a state visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain. At the beginning of the reception, His Majesty the King, may God support him, held a meeting with His Majesty the King of the sister Kingdom of Malaysia, which was held. During which, the strong historical relations between the two brotherly countries were reviewed, and the development and growth witnessed by bilateral cooperation, in order to achieve all that is good and prosperity for their peoples, where it was emphasized to continue joint work to develop strong bilateral relations in various fields, and other aspects of cooperation that serve mutual interests. After that, an expanded session of discussions was held between His Majesty the King of the country and His Majesty the King of sisterly Malaysia, in the presence of senior officials in the two brotherly countries. In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. May God’s peace, mercy, and blessings be upon you.
We are pleased to welcome Your Majesty and the accompanying delegation to the Kingdom of Bahrain. This historic visit will contribute to strengthening the deep-rooted friendship between Bahrain and Malaysia, and build on the kind invitation we received to attend Your Majesty’s solemn coronation ceremony last year.
The Kingdoms of Malaysia and Bahrain share a deep-rooted friendship based on many shared values, including tolerance and openness in society, religious diversity, women’s rights, and our recognized commitment to peace, coexistence and mutual respect.
We also share the same position in calling for peace in Gaza, ensuring the entry of humanitarian and reconstruction aid, and the two-state solution as the only way to achieve lasting peace in the Middle East.
Our two countries share rich cultural ties and promising economic opportunities, and Your Majesty can rest assured that the Kingdom of Bahrain is fully committed to strengthening and expanding areas of cooperation between our two countries in these and other areas.
In doing so, we will contribute together to achieving the mutual benefit of our two brotherly countries and peoples on the basis of friendship, trust and common goals.
Malaysia has achieved remarkable national growth thanks to its outstanding success in business, industry and agriculture, areas in which Bahrain also shines.
From this standpoint, we have great opportunities for cooperation and exchange of expertise in sectors such as banking, financial technologies, tourism, agriculture, and infrastructure development.
With the blessing of Your Majesty, the Kingdom of Bahrain looks forward to being an honest, useful and long-term partner to Malaysia, through constructive work in these and other areas, in a way that strengthens our bilateral relations. Your Majesty and your people have also been loyal brothers and allies of the Kingdom of Bahrain, and as we once again express our great appreciation for your visit, let us hope that our friendship will grow and prosper even more in the coming years. Although I am far from my homeland, I do not feel far away in this beautiful kingdom. For me, Bahrain is home. I never imagined that I would find in this part of the world someone who I could truly consider as my brother.
The Kingdom of Bahrain is no stranger to Malaysia. We share many similarities, have mutual respect for each other, and are united by a sincere spirit of brotherhood.
We also share the same values and ambitions, and together we strive to achieve peace, prosperity and progress for our honorable peoples.
The Kingdom is an important partner of Malaysia, and we look forward to strengthening our economic cooperation in line with Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030.
I am confident that we have ample opportunities to strengthen our bilateral relations under the wise leadership of Your Majesty.
I hope that my visit represents a new chapter in the process of relations between our two countries, contributing to shaping the future features of our partnership.
