The Capital Municipality Council received at its headquarters in Zinj this morning His Excellency Sheikh Khalid bin Hamoud Al Khalifa, Governor of the Capital Governorate, during his visit to the weekly council, in the presence of the Chairman and members of the Capital Municipality Council and a number of officials and residents.
During the meeting, the Council welcomed His Excellency the Governor, stressing that the weekly council is an open platform to receive citizens and listen to their comments and needs related to municipal services and the development of public facilities in the capital. During the visit, the most prominent ongoing and planned projects were reviewed, and the priorities for improving the urban environment, raising the efficiency of cleaning, and maintaining parks and roads, in addition to discussing ways to accelerate the completion of municipal transactions by enhancing coordination between the Municipality, the Capital Governorate, and service agencies.
During the visit, His Excellency the Governor affirmed the Capital Governorate’s keenness to enhance cooperation and coordination with the Capital Municipality Council, in a way that contributes to achieving common development goals and improving the quality of services provided to citizens and residents. He expressed his aspiration for the continuation of this constructive cooperation that embodies the spirit of partnership between the two sides in following up on service issues and implementing programs and projects that benefit the people. His Excellency the Governor praised the efforts of the members of the Capital Municipality Council and their prominent role in supporting the urban development process and developing municipal services, appreciating what the Council is making. One of the initiatives that serve the community and enhance the urban environment in the capital.
For its part, the Capital Municipality Council confirmed that the visit embodies the spirit of partnership and integration between the official agencies to serve the nation and the citizen, pointing out that the council will continue to hold its weekly council to receive auditors, document the suggestions and observations raised and submit them to the competent authorities while following up on implementation procedures.
At the conclusion of the visit, the attending residents expressed their appreciation for the keenness of the leaders and officials to meet directly with the citizens and listen to their requirements, which reflects the participatory approach in municipal work and enhances the community’s confidence in the Council’s role in facilitating their affairs.
