The General Secretariat of the Shura Council received a number of male and female university students training at the Ministry of Interior, within the framework of community partnership and cooperation shown by the General Secretariat to familiarize local university students with the progress of legislative work in the Kingdom of Bahrain, spread parliamentary culture, and emphasize the importance of the role played by the Council within the various paths of national action.
The male and female students met with Counselor Nofal Abdel Salam Ghorbal, Chairman of the Legal Advisors Board of the Shura Council, who provided a detailed explanation about the nature of advisory work and its role in supporting the legislative process, while they viewed a comprehensive introductory presentation about the powers and tasks of the Shura Council, and the mechanism of cooperation between the Shura and Representatives Councils on the one hand, and between the legislative and executive authorities on the other hand, within the framework of the General Secretariat’s efforts to enhance awareness of the legislative and oversight role played by the Council. And highlighting the aspects of complementarity between the two authorities in supporting the comprehensive development process.
The male and female students also visited the main session hall of the Council, during which they learned about the details of managing and organizing the sessions and deliberations during them, before visiting the Parliamentary Library of the Shura Council, and reviewing its most prominent contents from cognitive and legislative sources.
This visit comes within a series of visits organized by the General Secretariat of the Shura Council, to enhance communication with young people and encourage them to learn about the Bahraini parliamentary experience as an advanced national model in participation and decision-making.
