The Cairo International Film Festival announced the participation of the short film Another Row, directed by Amr Abed, in the 46th Cairo Film Festival, as the film will be shown among the official selections outside the short film competition.
The film “Tani Saf” stars Imad Ismail, Doaa Hamza, Ibrahim Salah, and Essam Ismail. It was written and directed by Amr Abed, co-written by Youmna Khattab, and produced by Ayman Al-Amir and Amr Abed.


The film’s events take place in the heart of Cairo’s hustle and bustle, where a young couple tries to sell their car before traveling outside the country, but the husband remains torn between leaving the country with his family or staying in Cairo alone.
In another context, Amr Abed’s latest work, the series A Date with the Past, is his first writing experience in a long series, after writing and directing his short film The Hole.
The series “A Date with the Past” includes a large number of stars, the most prominent of whom are: Aser Yassin, Rakeen Saad, Sherine Reda, Hoda Al-Mufti, Mahmoud Hamida, and a number of other artists. The work is directed by Al-Sadir Masoud, and its events take place within a framework of excitement and suspense.
Amr Abed began his directorial career with the short film The Hole, which won the Best Short Film Award at the McMushthran International Film Festival in India, and a special mention from the Keys Berlin International Film Festival, while he participated in various film festivals, including the Go Short Film Festival, The Underground Cinema Films Awards, one of the largest international festivals in Ireland, and the Pune Film Festival in India. The Hole received its world premiere at the Cairo International Film Festival, where it competed in the official short film competition. It received acclaim from the audience and critics.
The events of the film take place in a remote area on the outskirts of Cairo. A confrontation occurs between two men in which their personalities change and pushes them to the edge, revealing the dark side of their relationship. The film stars actors Sedqi Sakhr and Ahmed Banhawi. The film is produced by the star Karim Kassem, and written and directed by Amr Abed.
It is noteworthy that in the last few years, Amr focused on filmmaking and traveled to study directing at ESCAC Escola Superior de Cinema, Spain. He is currently working on his first feature film, entitled The One Who Was Dead, in addition to continuing his career in the world of acting.
Amr Abed is an Egyptian actor and filmmaker. He left a clear mark as an actor with many youth works that were very successful at the time, such as Free Time (2006), Magic (2007), Mickey’s Family (2010), and E.U.C. (2011). Some of his films participated in many film festivals, such as Farsh & Gatta, London Film Festival, Munich Film Festival (2013), Outdoor Night, Toronto International Film Festival (2018), and Why? Bentold El Gouna International Film Festival, Carthage Film Days (2019).
