The Crown Prince directs the Prime Minister to follow up on plans to implement the “Bahrain-Qatar” bridge project

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, may God protect him, chaired the regular weekly meeting of the Council of Ministers, which was held today, at Gudaibiya Palace.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Council stressed the importance of the discussions held by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of the country, may God protect and preserve him, with His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim bin the late Sultan Iskandar, King of the sisterly Kingdom of Malaysia, within the framework of his state visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain, pointing to the results of the visit in terms of supporting the close strategic relations between the two brotherly countries and their opportunities for cooperation in various fields, and the prospects for strengthening and developing them in a way that achieves mutual benefit and supports the path of development. And prosperity in both countries.

The Council then praised the results of the King Hamad Justice Forum, which was delegated by His Majesty the King of the country, may God support him, to attend the opening ceremony of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, pointing out the wide participation in the forum of judges, government officials, international legal experts and commercial practitioners, who discussed the impact of the new international courts on the movement of trade and investment, innovations in the field of cross-border dispute settlement, and the Kingdom of Bahrain’s vision to strengthen its position as a regional hub for commercial justice and global legal cooperation.

The Council then stressed the importance of the results of the third edition of the Arab International Conference and Exhibition for Cybersecurity 2025, which was held under the patronage of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and Prime Minister, may God protect him. His Highness delegated His Highness Lieutenant General Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, National Security Advisor, Commander of the Royal Guard, Secretary-General of the Supreme Defense Council, to open it, noting the Kingdom of Bahrain’s keenness to support efforts aimed at strengthening international cooperation in the field of cybersecurity.

After that, the Council extended its thanks and appreciation to all parties whose organizational efforts contributed to the success of the “Bahrain Royal Concours 2025”, led by the Ministry of Interior and the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority, pointing to the positive interaction witnessed by the “Bahrain Royal Concours 2025” in terms of participation and public attendance, which reflects the position that the Kingdom of Bahrain has occupied in the world of motor sports. The Council also thanked the Ministry of Interior, those in charge of the Bahrain International Circuit, and all concerned parties whose organizational efforts contributed to the success of the Bapco Energies Bahrain 8 Hour Endurance Race, within the World Endurance Championship for the 2025 season.

The Council then referred to the opening of the second phase of the Avenues Mall expansion project – Bahrain, which represents a qualitative leap in the size and diversity of the facilities provided by the complex and enhances its position in terms of shopping and entertainment.

The Council then welcomed the inauguration of the passenger sea line between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the sisterly State of Qatar, and reviewed a report submitted by His Excellency the Minister of Transport and Communications in this regard. In this regard, His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, may God protect him, directed him to take advantage of this sea line to enhance cooperation and connectivity between the two brotherly countries through tourist and commercial cargo ships to include the transport of passengers and cars. His Highness also directed the Ministry of Transport and Communications to follow up on the completion of plans to implement the Bahrain-Qatar Bridge Project.

After that, the Council approved the following memorandums:

1. Memorandum of the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs on a draft law approving the Kingdom of Bahrain’s accession to the Locarno Agreement regarding establishing an international classification of industrial designs.

2. Memorandum of the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs regarding the draft general agreement to connect the countries of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf to the railway project.

3. Memorandum of the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs on the agreement to facilitate the movement of marine vessels designated for pleasure between the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council.

4. Memorandum of the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs on a memorandum of understanding between the Higher Education Council and QS Quacquarlli Symond in the United Kingdom.

The Council then took note of the following through ministerial reports:

1. Results of participation in the meeting of the fifth session of the Joint Bahraini-Indian Ministerial Committee.

2. Results of participation in the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (ADIPEC 2025).

3. Results of participation in the World Leaders Summit for Climate Action within the activities of the 30th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP30).

4. Results of the First Bahrain International Public Health Conference.

5. Results of the official visit made by His Excellency the Minister of Youth Affairs to the sisterly Arab Republic of Egypt.

6. Results of participation in the Second World Summit for Social Development.
