President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi said that the Egyptian state was late in starting work in the field of information technology and digitization, noting that if the state had begun its efforts in this sector 30 or 40 years ago, the current results would have been completely different.
This came during President Sisi’s reception, today, of the heads and leaders of 52 major Egyptian and international companies working in the field of outsourcing industry in the communications and information technology sector, on the sidelines of their participation in the World Outsourcing Industry Summit, which Egypt will host on November 9 and 10, 2025.
President Sisi: The state is late in working in the field of information technology
The president added that the Egyptian state is betting on the human element as its real opportunity, explaining that there are intensive efforts to qualify young people scientifically and practically through schools, universities and institutes, as well as cooperation with international universities specialized in this field.
President Sisi continued: We are making every effort to prepare our young men and women to be capable and effective elements in the field of information technology. We worked on this issue late as a country, and if we had started working effectively three or four decades ago, the result today would have been different, because we hope to jump into this field quickly.
The President pointed out that the whole world is talking today about digital transformation and promising opportunities in the information technology sector, in contrast to other areas of work that are declining or disappearing, stressing that Egypt seeks to keep pace with this global development with ambitious plans and continuous efforts, but it needs more depth and advanced levels to achieve what the country aspires to in this vital sector.
