“Paths towards Successful Trade,” organized by the Bahrain Council for the Settlement of International Disputes, with the participation of an elite group of economic, judicial and governmental leaders from inside and outside the Kingdom of Bahrain, with the aim of strengthening the bonds of trade, investment and legal cooperation between the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Republic of India and the Middle East and North Africa region.
The program began with a speech by Dr. Pinky Anand, who was appointed as a judge at the International Commercial Court in the Kingdom of Bahrain, the establishment of which was recently announced. His Excellency Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal, Minister of Law and Justice of the Republic of India, also delivered a keynote speech in which he highlighted the importance of the Forum and its role in enhancing the confidence of the Indian business community in foreign investment.
Justice Surya Kant, President-designate of the Supreme Court of India, pointed to the evolving landscape of international dispute settlement, and the growing legal relations between the two judicial systems in India and the Middle East and North Africa region.
The event concluded with a speech delivered by Professor Marika Patrani Paulsson, Secretary-General of the Bahrain Council for the Settlement of International Disputes, in which she stressed the Kingdom of Bahrain’s keenness to provide a reliable platform for companies and legal practitioners to settle complex commercial disputes, thus contributing to enhancing economic cooperation and legal innovation between the Kingdom of Bahrain and India, and consolidating the Kingdom’s position regionally in the areas of international commercial dispute settlement.
