Professor Aqeela Abdullah Issa, the Arabic language teacher at Aali Primary School for Boys, linked her lessons to the passion for football among her students, through her initiative called (The Scorer), which she implemented for the third academic year in a row, amid distinguished interaction and positive academic results.
The teacher explained that her initiative aims to develop enthusiasm for learning in a fun, interactive manner, and to promote positive behavior, by giving the student a ball sticker to be added to the “scorer’s goal” pinned in his notebook, when he commits to good behavior or excels in performance, so that these stickers will later be replaced with motivational rewards within a monthly event called (the scorer’s market), which creates a motivating and exciting learning environment.
She noted that the project had contributed to a noticeable improvement in students’ discipline and classroom participation, stressing that integrating motivation into classroom activities helped transform the class into a vibrant educational experience.
For his part, student Ali Aqeel Ibrahim said that he had become more keen to participate and pay attention during the class, while his colleague Abdullah Musa Jaafar indicated that he felt excited in every lesson, seeking to obtain more gifts, and that the project had made learning the Arabic language more enjoyable and interactive.
This comes within specific initiatives in government schools, to improve the level of educational services, under the supervision and follow-up of the Ministry of Education.
