Signing an agreement of understanding between the Royal Bahrain Equestrian and Endurance Racing Federation and the Bahrain Anti-Doping Agency

Under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs and Honorary President of the Royal Bahraini Equestrian and Endurance Federation, the Royal Bahraini Equestrian and Endurance Federation signed an agreement of understanding with the Bahraini Anti-Doping Agency to enhance joint cooperation in the field of anti-doping. The agreement was signed within the framework of the joint meeting held between the two parties with the aim of discussing ways of future cooperation in the field of anti-doping. The meeting was attended by Dr. Khalid Abdulaziz Al Sheikh, Chairman of the Agency’s Board of Directors. The Bahraini Anti-Doping Association, Mr. Mazen Abdul Qader Bu Hammoud, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors, Mr. Saad Mubarak Al-Nafi’i, CEO of the Agency, and on the part of the Royal Equestrian Federation, Mr. Ghaleb Mukhtar Al-Alawi, Secretary of the Federation, and Dr. Khaled Ahmed Hassan, Assistant Secretary of the Federation. The two sides stressed the importance of this partnership in spreading awareness of the dangers of doping and the joint endeavor to eliminate it, in a way that ensures the strengthening of the principle of fair play. The members of the Royal Bahraini Equestrian and Endurance Federation appreciated the agency’s efforts, especially since they will enhance cooperation in the areas of anti-doping, and confirm the federation’s firm commitment to applying international standards in this field. The meeting focused on strengthening cooperation and coordination to combat doping in the sports field, based on the Kingdom of Bahrain’s firm commitment to the principles of clean sports and fair competition. The CEO of the Bahraini Agency reviewed the national anti-doping strategy and the advanced achievements achieved by the agency during the last period, which included the agency’s Bahrain received international recognition in applying international standards as an independent body at the national level by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), in addition to implementing a package of awareness and educational programs and doping testing programs, and building strategic partnerships at the local and international levels. During the meeting, the two sides discussed mechanisms for joint cooperation in the field of developing training programs and awareness of the dangers of doping in addition to implementing testing programs.
