Sheikh Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa, President of the Asian Football Confederation, First Vice President of FIFA, met with Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Minister of Defense of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, during the official visit initiated by the President of the Asian Football Confederation to the Pakistani capital, Islamabad.
During the two meetings, aspects of joint cooperation and ways to promote and develop football in Pakistan were discussed, thus contributing to supporting the plans of the Pakistan Football Association to advance the game at the technical and administrative levels.
Sheikh Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa praised the positive role of the Pakistani government in supporting local football, stressing the Asian Football Confederation’s commitment to continue working with the Pakistani Federation in cooperation with the International Federation in order to develop the football system in the country and provide programs to nurture and refine talents, stressing the importance of continuing joint cooperation between the various parties in a way that contributes to achieving the aspirations of Pakistani football.
For their part, the Pakistani Foreign and Defense Ministers welcomed Sheikh Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa on the occasion of his visit to Islamabad, noting the role of the Asian Football Confederation in supporting the game in various parts of the Asian continent.
The two meetings were attended by Datuk Seri Windsor John, Secretary-General of the Asian Football Confederation, Syed Mohsin Gilani, President of the Pakistan Football Association, and a number of officials from the Asian and Pakistani Football Confederations.
