Manama – On a day full of memories and respect, the Salmaniya Rotary Club organized a memorial service for the late former Minister of Electricity and former club president, Engineer Abdullah Juma, in the presence of a number of club members, his family and friends of the deceased.
The club’s president, Mrs. Hanadi Al-Ansari, gave a profound speech that combined sobriety and loyalty, in which she said, “We meet today to honor a man who lived for others. Abdullah Jumaa was not just a name in the record of positions, but rather he was a moral presence and a human compass for everyone who knew him and worked with him.”
She added, “Abdullah was a symbol of dedication and giving, a living example of charitable and community work. He touched the hearts of many through his achievements and sincerity in providing services to people in all sectors that he contributed to developing.”
Then his nephew, Mr. Faisal Jumah, spoke poignant words that reflected the depth of the relationship he had with the deceased. He said, “Abdullah Jumah’s relationship with people was special and unique, as he loved to interact and communicate with everyone. He attended meetings with passion, always at the front of the ranks, offering help to those who needed it. He always had a good heart, and his relationship with all of us was based on love and respect.”
He added, “He was the one who gave me the way to the club, paid my subscription, and taught me that service is not a slogan but a message. He was always present, following everyone’s affairs, and was only afraid of neglecting anyone.”
After him, it was the turn of Mohamed Salah El-Din, who carried with him rare photos from the club’s beginnings more than half a century ago. These pictures embodied the spirit of youth and beginnings, and revealed the features of men who united on the values of work, loyalty, and belonging. They were not just pictures, but a testimony to a long history forged by friendship and commitment.
Then Muhammad Al Khaja spoke, recalling personal memories from his youth, moments he spent with the deceased in the council, and a special trip that brought them together. In his words, Abdullah Jumaa appeared not as a former official, but as a figure everyone relied on, a calm, steady man, always present when someone needed him. His memories were a testimony to a person who was present in his heart before his presence.
The testimonies that were said that night revealed a clear truth, which is that there are rare men whose absence is heavier than their presence.
For more than fifty-four years, the Sulaymaniyah Rotary Club has formed a platform around which the sons and daughters of Bahrain have gathered on one principle, which is that helping others is the highest form of citizenship. Abdullah Jumaa was one of the club’s most steadfast pillars, a man who bridged the past and the present, and carried the club’s message as a person carries his deep conviction, not just a slogan.
The ceremony was not just a farewell, but rather a reminder that life is not measured by the number of years, but by the depth of its impact. Abdullah Jumaa lived quietly, passed away quietly, and his humanitarian legacy will remain present for generations to come. May God have mercy on him and place him in spacious gardens, and reward him with the best reward for the life he spent raising others.
