The Portuguese player, Cristiano Ronaldo, confirmed that he moved to live in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia because of his belief in its capabilities.

He added in his speech during the “Tourise 2025” forum held in the capital, Riyadh, on Tuesday, that he considers himself a Saudi, and helps in various sectors.

He also continued that everyone discovered that he was right when he made the decision to move to Riyadh.

Ronaldo expressed his love for the city of AlUla and the Red Sea project in Saudi Arabia, pointing out his desire to be part of the great project in the Kingdom.

He also revealed his belief in the ability and ambition of the Saudi development project.

Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo announced last June that he planned to live in Saudi Arabia for the rest of his life, explaining that this was one of the reasons for renewing his contract with the Al-Nasr team.

He continued that Saudi Arabia is a wonderful country to live in because of its peace and security.

It is noteworthy that the Al-Nasr team had announced that the Portuguese captain had renewed his contract until 2027, so that he would continue in its ranks until after his 42nd birthday.

Ronaldo joined the Saudi club on a two-and-a-half-year contract as a free transfer in 2022 after his departure from Manchester United. Since then, he has scored 99 goals in all competitions.

Ronaldo said in a video that Al-Nasr posted at the time on the YouTube platform: My family always supports my decisions, and we are happy here in Saudi Arabia, and we have a beautiful life. The Saudis treat us in a very, very wonderful way, and that is why we want to live there and continue our lives there.

He added: My goal, of course, is to always win important titles with Al-Nassr. “I still believe in that, and that is why I renewed my contract for an additional two years, because I believe that I will be a champion in Saudi Arabia.”

In addition, he believed that the Saudi League is one of the five strongest leagues in the world, and that those who participate in it know this, saying: “I am sure that the 2034 World Cup will be the most beautiful in history.”
