The relevant agencies in Menoufia, in cooperation with the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation, launched a massive campaign to restore the Nile River Sanctuary in the Rosetta Branch within the Sadat Center, within the urgent phase of the first phase of the national project to control and remove encroachments on the Nile course.
Removal of encroachments on river lands in Menoufia
The campaign continues its work for the seventh day in a row, and today the Sadat Center witnessed the removal of 67 cases of illegal building encroachment on the lands and precincts of the Nile River, with a total area of 5,904 square meters, with the aim of restoring the efficiency of the waterway and raising the branch’s absorptive capacity in a way that ensures improved water management and prevents any negative impacts on the course of the Nile.

The removal work took place under tight security guard from the police forces, who secured equipment and workers throughout the implementation of the various stages, to ensure the implementation of the removal decisions and prevent the recurrence of violations. The executive authorities also confirmed that the campaign will continue without stopping until all violations occurring on the river precinct within the governorate are removed.
In the same context, the Ministry of Irrigation explained that these operations come within the framework of the state’s plan to restore the prestige of the Nile River and protect it from encroachments that impede the flow of water and affect water security, stressing the continuation of implementing campaigns in all governorates overlooking the river and its branches until the complete removal of all forms of encroachments.
