The Public Prosecutor of the Red Sea Prosecution Office decided to refer a workshop owner on charges of killing his son and dumping his body in a mountainous area in Safaga to the Criminal Court.
The competent authorities in the city of Safaga had completed investigations, which showed that the father had ended his son’s life after discovering that he had stolen some belongings from his workshop, so he proceeded to discipline him, according to what he said in the investigations, by assaulting and beating him with an electric cord until he died.
The accused tried to hide his crime, as he brought a welding missile, cut the body, and threw it in several mountainous areas in the city of Safaga to hide the signs of his crime.
Details of the incident
The details of the incident date back to when the security services in Safaga received notification that the charred body parts of an unknown child had been found inside a bag in a remote mountainous area south of the Red Sea.
The police forces immediately moved to the site of the report, imposed a security cordon around the place, and the remains were transferred to the Safaga Hospital morgue at the disposal of the Public Prosecution.
By forming a search team of detective officers and hearing witness statements, it was found that the victim was a child called “Amin,” who was 13 years old. He was staying with his father after his mother separated from him, and that the father was known for his mistreatment and constant torture of his two sons.
Investigations revealed that the crime occurred after the father accused his son of stealing some belongings from his workshop, so he electrocuted him with an electric wire until he died. To hide the evidence of his crime, he resorted to dismembering the body using a sharp tool and setting it on fire, then placing the body parts inside a bag that he threw in a mountainous area.
