During the past 24 hours, Port Said Governorate witnessed intense events, the most notable of which was the reception by Major General Moheb Habashi, Governor of Port Said, of Major General Hisham Hosni Hassan, Commander of the Popular and Military Defense Forces, as part of the joint practical training activities “Saqr 155” to confront crises and disasters, which the governorate is hosting in cooperation with the Popular and Military Defense Forces.

The governor welcomed the Commander of the Popular and Military Defense Forces and his accompanying delegation, stressing that the training comes within the framework of raising the degree of readiness of the executive agencies and their readiness to deal with various crises and emergencies, praising the fruitful cooperation between the governorate and the armed forces in implementing this qualitative training.
The governor and the commander of the Popular Defense and Military Forces also witnessed the launch of the joint practical training activities “Saqr 155” in the Ambassador Fayza Abu Al-Naga Hall in the governorate’s general office, where a number of martyrs’ families were honored, the capabilities of the executive agencies were reviewed, and the governorate’s readiness was demonstrated with the participation of the executive leadership, security agencies, and the Armed Forces Operations Authority.
The governor and commander of the Popular Defense and Military Forces followed the field training activities from within the center of the unified national network for emergency services and public safety, where the work mechanism and the role of the network in supporting the emergency management system and achieving rapid response and coordination between the concerned authorities were reviewed.
In a related context, the governor and the commander of the Popular Defense and Military Forces witnessed the lining up of the equipment of the city of Port Fouad, the neighborhoods and the service directorates, and they inspected the urgent shelter camp in the scout camp, to ensure full readiness to deal with any emergency, and to review the crisis response plan in cooperation with Social Solidarity, the Red Crescent, and civil associations.
Major General Moheb Habashi also ratified the decrease by two months in the admission age for the first grade of primary school for the academic year 2025/2026, making it the minimum for admission from those born on October 2 to November 30, 2019, in order to provide the opportunity for the largest number of children to enroll in basic education, taking into account the densities within the classes.
