Dr. Bahaa El-Ghannam, head of Egypt’s Future Agency for Sustainable Development, conducted a field tour on Tuesday during which he inspected the progress of work on the 300,000-acre project within the New Delta Project, in order to follow up on the executive position on the areas of cultivated land, and the rates of implementation of infrastructure work, including water pumping stations, electricity transmission networks, roads, and pivot irrigation for reclaimed lands, in light of the political leadership’s directives to accelerate the pace of work on the New Delta Project and maximize the returns from major national agricultural projects.

During the tour, Dr. Bahaa Al-Ghannam directed the necessity of completing the implementation of all infrastructure projects for the 800,000 feddan project before next December 31, in preparation for handing over the lands to agricultural investment companies and starting the stages of agricultural development according to a specific time plan. He also directed the necessity of doubling the volume of employment in the various sites and overcoming all implementation challenges to ensure adherence to the specified timetable for the projects.
During his tour, the head of the agency inspected the main gate of the 300,000 acres project, directing the establishment of a main gate similar to the 400,000 acres project, in addition to 3 additional subsidiary gates on the main roads and axes to facilitate the entry of equipment and the transfer of materials necessary for the implementation stages. He suggested that the gates bear Pharaonic names inspired by Egyptian identity, as an expression of the depth of Egyptian civilization and the project’s connection to the Grand Egyptian Museum, and in a way that reflects the state’s vision of integrating national identity and sustainable development.
Dr. Bahaa Al-Ghannam, President of Egypt’s Future Agency for Sustainable Development, praised the distinguished efforts made by agricultural investment companies operating within the scope of the New Delta Project, praising the fruitful cooperation between them and the agency’s agricultural administration in implementing the targeted plans in accordance with the highest standards of efficiency and quality.
He also expressed his appreciation for the pivotal role played by the national contracting companies and the agency’s central engineering department, which continues to work around the clock to implement infrastructure projects according to the specified timetables, stressing that this integration between the various sectors reflects a successful national model in managing and implementing major agricultural development projects in the country.
