Dr. Maryam Athbi Al-Jalahma, CEO of Government Hospitals, inaugurated the new molecular laboratory in the laboratory department at Salmaniya Medical Complex, in the presence of a number of officials and administrators in the health sector.
The opening of the molecular laboratory comes as part of the ongoing efforts to develop laboratory and diagnostic services in government hospitals, in line with the directions of the Supreme Council of Health and the strategy of shifting towards precision medicine and advanced diagnostic technologies.
Dr. Al Jalahma stressed that the molecular laboratory is a qualitative addition to the diagnostic infrastructure at Salmaniya Medical Complex, as it provides advanced capabilities in analyzing genetic and molecular samples, contributing to early detection of diseases and enhancing the accuracy of diagnosis and treatment.
She pointed out that the opening of the laboratory constitutes an important step in the development of the health services system in government hospitals, through the introduction of the latest laboratory technologies that contribute to raising the quality and accuracy of examinations, and accelerating the pace of diagnosis and treatment for the benefit of patients.
Dr. Al Jalahma expressed her thanks and appreciation to all the medical and technical teams that contributed to the implementation of this project, praising the efforts of qualified national cadres working to operate the laboratory in accordance with the highest internationally approved quality and safety standards.
She indicated that the project comes within the strategic plan of government hospitals aimed at enhancing integration between diagnostic and therapeutic services, and achieving the objectives of the National Health Plan, which aims to raise the level of health services and ensure their sustainability in a way that serves citizens and residents of the Kingdom of Bahrain.
