
His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and Prime Minister, has delegated His Highness Lieutenant General Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, National Security Advisor, Commander of the Royal Guard, Secretary General of the Supreme Defense Council, to open the third edition of the Arab International Cybersecurity Conference and Exhibition (AICS 2025), which is being held this year in strategic partnership with the DEF CON global conference for the first time in the region, and continues until November 6, 2025, at the Center Bahrain International Exhibitions.
The opening witnessed the presence of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Governor of the Southern Governorate, Sheikh Khalid bin Ali Al Khalifa, Deputy National Security Advisor and Deputy Secretary-General of the Supreme Defense Council, Sheikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, CEO of the National Cybersecurity Centre, and a number of ministers and senior officials.
On this occasion, His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa stressed that the Kingdom of Bahrain’s hosting of the conference this year, and the strategic partnership with the DEF CON conference, one of the most prominent conferences specialized in the field of cybersecurity, represents a qualitative step that reflects international confidence in the position that the Kingdom of Bahrain has come to occupy as a leading center in this vital sector at the regional and international levels.
His Highness said that the conference is a strategic platform that brings together an elite group of experts and decision-makers from various countries of the world to exchange knowledge and experiences, and review the latest experiences and technologies in the field of cybersecurity, which contributes to strengthening regional and international cooperation, supporting the digital development process of the Kingdom of Bahrain, and consolidating its position as a leading destination in building an advanced cyber system that enhances digital security and stability globally.
His Highness added, “The conference represents an important opportunity to support the efforts of the National Center for Cybersecurity towards building a secure digital and cyber environment, empowering national competencies, and raising levels of cyber readiness, by organizing technical workshops and specialized training programs in cooperation with an elite group of international institutions and companies.”
The conference will witness the signing of a number of agreements and memorandums of cooperation between the participating parties, in a step aimed at strengthening regional and international cooperation in developing cyber policies and programs, in addition to launching new initiatives to build national capabilities and empower young competencies in the field of cybersecurity.
