The Northern Municipal Council unanimously approved the establishment of handball, volleyball, and basketball courts on part of property No. (04039953) located on Road (7720) in Block (477) in the Shakhura area, submitted by Council member, representative of the Fifth District, Tariq Al-Farani.
The proposal aims to address the region’s lack of an equipped playground that serves various age groups, and provide a safe and organized outlet for youth and children to practice sports and recreational activities, in addition to encouraging families to practice sports and promote physical activity.
Al-Farsani explained that the property belongs to the government of the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs, which allows for easy coordination for the establishment and maintenance of stadiums, noting that the site’s grounds are suitable for various team sports.
