MP Qarata: Trade union work in Bahrain receives the attention and patronage of the King

Representative Ahmed Abdul Wahed Qarata, Second Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, confirmed that union work and workers in the Kingdom of Bahrain (in the public and private sectors) receive special attention and generous care from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of the country, may God protect and preserve him, and continuous and vigorous follow-up from His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, may God protect him.

The Second Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives praised the distinguished bilateral relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the sisterly Arab Republic of Egypt, considering that this relationship represents a qualitative leap in the history of established fraternal relations, and opens up to exceptional and distinguished horizons of cooperation in all fields between the brothers, noting that this special relationship between the two countries is a reflection of the sublime efforts and generous attention given by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the great king of the country, may God protect and preserve him, And his brother, His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the sisterly Arab Republic of Egypt.

This came during MP Ahmed Abdel Wahed Qarata, Second Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, receiving a delegation from the General Union of Public Prosecution and Court Workers in the sisterly Arab Republic of Egypt, this morning, in the presence of MP Abdel Wahed Abdel Aziz Qarata, Vice Chairman of the Services Committee, and MP Mahdi Abdel Aziz Al Shuwaikh, member of the committee, where the latest amendments and proposals introduced to the laws of social insurance, labor and investment, and ways to benefit from the experience of the two brotherly countries in those areas, were reviewed.

During the meeting, the Second Deputy pointed out the House of Representatives’ keenness to support and enhance workers’ rights and defend their interests by all legislative and supervisory means in the Kingdom of Bahrain, and always seeks to coordinate with all labor federations and trade unionists in order to submit proposals and amendments to legislation in the Kingdom of Bahrain that express the concerns and aspirations of the working class.

For its part, the delegation of the General Union of Workers in Egyptian Prosecutions and Courts praised the distinguished position that the Kingdom of Bahrain enjoys at the international level in the areas of union work and workers’ rights, and the comprehensive progress achieved by the Kingdom and a broad renaissance at all levels, especially in the field of caring for workers and preserving their rights. The delegation stressed the importance of cooperation, joint coordination and exchange of experiences in the field of legislation and labor rights.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the two sides stressed the importance of continuing cooperation and exchanging experiences between trade unions and development institutions in the two countries, which contributes to the development of Arab trade union work and Arab labor rights, and further strengthening fraternal relations between the two brotherly Egyptian and Bahraini peoples.
