
His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Chairman of the General Sports Authority and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, witnessed the opening ceremony of the sixth edition of the Islamic Solidarity Games, which was held on Friday, November 7, in the city of Janadriyah, under the generous patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, King of the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Bandar Al Saud, Governor of the Riyadh Region, and His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Faisal Al. Saud, Minister of Sports in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Chairman of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee, President of the Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation, and a number of senior officials in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, sports leaders, heads and representatives of the International Olympic Committees, members of the diplomatic corps, and senior guests and invitees.
On this occasion, His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa expressed his sincere congratulations and blessings to the leadership and people of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, on the occasion of the opening of the Sixth Islamic Solidarity Games, stressing that the high patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, and the continuous follow-up of His Highness the Crown Prince, Prime Minister, embody the interest and care given by the Saudi leadership to developing the sports movement in the Arab and Islamic worlds, and reinforce the message of solidarity and unity among Islamic peoples through sports.
His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa praised the distinguished opening ceremony, which reflected the Kingdom’s great organizational and creative capabilities, stressing that the organization and professionalism he witnessed in the technical details embodied the Kingdom’s experience in hosting major sporting events.
His Highness added, “We have full confidence in the ability of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to achieve remarkable success in hosting this tournament, which will enhance its prestigious position on the global sports map, and embody the spirit of solidarity and brotherhood that this major Islamic sporting event carries.”
His Highness concluded his statement by wishing good luck and success to all participating teams, stressing that the Riyadh 2025 tournament will be an honorable model for organization and creativity in the service of youth and sports in the Islamic world.
The opening ceremony included many artistic performances and paintings that embodied the Saudi heritage and civilization, Islamic affiliation and unity. The Bahraini delegation also appeared in popular costume in the parade queue for the participating countries, amid greetings and welcome from His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa and the attending audiences.
