His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the General Sports Authority, and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, arrived in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, to attend the competitions of the Sixth Islamic Solidarity Games, hosted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia from 7 to 21 November.
Upon his arrival, His Highness was received by His Highness Prince Fahd bin Jalawi bin Musaed Al Saud, Vice President of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee, and a number of senior officials of the organizing committee.
His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for its warm reception and generous hospitality, praising the great efforts it is making in organizing this tournament, which reflects its leading position in the sports field.
His Highness said: “We are pleased to participate in this important Islamic sporting event, which embodies the unity and cohesion of Islamic peoples under the banner of sport, and enhances the values of brotherhood, cooperation and peace among its people. We wish the organizing committee and all participants every success in achieving the goals of this blessed session.”
