The program witnesses wide participation from Bahraini youth of all ages, which reflects the growing interest in this sport in the Kingdom.

Jamila Al Nashaba, a member of the Board of Directors of the Bahrain Tennis Federation, said that the program enjoys the support and encouragement of His Excellency Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, President of the Federation, to continue its implementation, with the aim of spreading the game of tennis among all segments of society, stressing that the demand for the program reflects the interest of young people in the sport of tennis with the aim of qualifying a new generation of players capable of playing and competing in local tournaments and competitions.

She added that the training program, led by coach Islam Ashour, includes a comprehensive set of basic and advanced skills in tennis, in addition to focusing on physical fitness and tactics for the game, on the Al-Ittihad courts in Isa Town at a rate of two sessions per week, on Thursdays and Saturdays from eight to nine in the evening.

She pointed out that the program is widely praised by the participants for the level of organization and the quality of the training provided, as the latest training curricula are applied that ensure the gradual development of the participants’ level of basic tennis skills.

Al-Nashaba explained that tennis is a family sport suitable for all ages because it combines physical activity, entertainment and social interaction, and can be adapted to suit different physical skill levels.

It is worth noting that this program comes in response to proposals received by the Federation’s Women’s Committee from women and girls participating in the evening training program regarding opening the way for young men to learn the basics of tennis and physical fitness for their young husbands and families so that they can practice this game within a family atmosphere in which everyone can enjoy.
