Sheikh Ihab Younis, the religious vocalist who participated in the opening ceremony of the Grand Egyptian Museum, expressed his pride and happiness in participating in this historical event, stressing that that moment was exceptional and unforgettable.
Al-Munshid said in statements to Cairo 24: It was a moment of great pride and happiness to be part of this global event. I felt a great responsibility towards this great cultural edifice, and being in front of the president and the public was a great honor for me, and I am proud to be among the participants in an event that reflects the greatness of Egypt.
He pointed out that the Grand Egyptian Museum embodies the diversity of Egyptian civilization, explaining that Islamic religious chanting harmonized beautifully with the spirit of the place, as he said: Chanting reflects spirituality and beauty, two elements that complement ancient Egyptian art and heritage, which made the experience unique and distinctive.
Regarding the scenes of his participation, he explained that he was chosen based on his history in the field of religious singing, noting that the preparations were intense and continued for weeks of rehearsals to ensure a performance worthy of the magnitude of the great event, and the efforts were shared by everyone.
He stressed that presenting musical songs and religious chants in a global event of this size reflects Egypt’s tolerant and religiously and culturally diverse image, saying: This is a strong message to the world that Egypt is a country of tolerance and spiritual beauty, and that we possess a great artistic and cultural heritage.
The vocalist concluded his speech by saying: I was keen that my voice convey the message of love and peace from the heart of Egypt to the world, a message that expresses the depth of Egyptian spirituality and the richness of the heritage of Egyptian religious singing and its profound influence.
