
His Excellency Sheikh Hisham bin Abdul Rahman Al Khalifa, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs, opened the training course on the advanced border security system, organized by the Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs in cooperation with SITA, which specializes in the field of information and communications technology solutions for the air transport sector. His Excellency stressed that organizing this course comes as part of efforts to develop the capabilities of Ministry of Interior employees and enhance the efficiency of operations at border crossings, noting that it is a continuation of a series of programs. Training aimed at qualifying cadres working at the ports, to keep pace with technical developments in the fields of border security and passenger movement management, adding that these programs come within the framework of the Ministry of Interior’s strategy aimed at improving the quality of services and achieving digital transformation in work systems. His Excellency explained that the system will rely on artificial intelligence techniques to analyze travelers’ data and monitor risk indicators in advance, which will contribute to accelerating verification procedures and improving the travel experience, stressing the Nationality, Passports and Residency Affairs’ keenness to continue adopting smart solutions that support smooth travel. And digital transformation, which enhances the Kingdom of Bahrain’s position as a leading center in smart travel systems.
