Starting from social media
Hadeer Abdel Razek began her career on the TikTok and Instagram applications, and presented various content about fashion, beauty, and daily life, but she quickly sparked controversy because of her bold style and the way she appeared in front of the camera, which some considered a departure from public morals.
Numerous complaints were filed against her accusing her of broadcasting indecent clips through her official accounts, beginning the first chapters of her legal crisis.
Issues of indecent content
The Public Prosecution charged blogger Hadeer Abdel Razek with charges related to publishing and broadcasting content that would violate family and societal values, after her mobile phone was seized and found to contain a number of clips that investigations described as indecent.
Last February, the Cairo Economic Court issued a ruling to imprison her for one year with labor, a fine of 100,000 pounds, and a bail of 5,000 pounds, against the backdrop of these accusations.
Uphold the ruling
In a new development, the Economic Court ruled to uphold the sentence issued to imprison blogger Hadeer Abdel Razek for a year, after rejecting the appeal submitted by her defense, so that the ruling becomes enforceable unless it is appealed before the Court of Cassation.
The court explained that the accused deliberately published clips containing obscene insinuations and verbal abuses that were inconsistent with the values of Egyptian society, stressing that her goal was to achieve high profits and views via the Internet.
Run over case
In a separate incident, Al-Blogher was accused of driving her car in a way that caused injury to a person in the Talbieh area, and a preliminary ruling was issued against her to two years’ imprisonment in that case, before she appealed the ruling and the proceedings are still continuing before the judiciary.
