The ancient King Qaytbay Mosque in the Fayoum Endowments, in cooperation with the Fayoum Tourism Authority, received an official delegation from the State of Italy, in order to view the Islamic monuments and unique architectural heritage that Egypt abounds, under the patronage of Dr. Osama Al-Azhari, Minister of Endowments, and the directions of Sheikh Salama Abdel Razek, Director of the Directorate, and the supervision of Moataz Ahmed, Director of the Fayoum Tourism Promotion Authority, and Sheikh Yahya Muhammad, Director of Da’wah, within the framework of the Egyptian Ministry of Endowments’ interest in enhancing civilizational and cultural communication between Egypt. And all other countries of the world.
Fayoum Endowments welcomes an Italian delegation to a visit to the ancient Qaitbay Mosque in Fayoum
The delegation was received by His Eminence Sheikh Taha Hussein Abdel Aziz, the imam of the mosque, who took them on an introductory tour inside the mosque, during which he reviewed its ancient history and the distinguished Fatimid and Mamluk construction style, and highlighted the efforts made by the Ministry of Endowments in maintaining ancient mosques and preserving the authentic Islamic identity.
The members of the delegation praised the great care they observed for Islamic heritage, and the efforts made by the Egyptian state, represented by the Ministry of Endowments, to preserve these historical monuments that reflect the tolerance of Islam and the depth of Egyptian civilization.
Sheikh Salama Abdel Razek, Director of the Directorate, confirmed that these visits highlight the cultural and civilizational role of the Egyptian state, and confirm the mission of the Ministry of Endowments to spread the values of tolerance, coexistence, and peace among peoples.
At the conclusion of the visit, the Italian delegation expressed its thanks and appreciation for the warm reception, stressing that the beauty and spirituality they saw in Qaitbay Mosque in Fayoum reflects a bright picture of Egypt and its ancient Islamic history.
