The DePaul University Alumni Association in the Kingdom of Bahrain announced the formation of its first board of directors after its official announcement by the Ministry of Social Development in a step that is an important milestone in the graduates’ journey and their contribution to supporting the academic community and expanding areas of professional cooperation among them.
According to the statement issued by the association, Nasser Bardestani was elected to chair the Board of Directors, Fatima Al-Abbasi to the position of Vice-Chairman, Laila Amiri to the position of Secretary, Jalila Al-Fulath to the position of Financial Secretary, and Abdulaziz Al-Mahmoud, Aisha Hassan, Salman Al-Rasheed, Wael Karmastji and Kevin Hammond as members, as the Board of Directors represents a group of ambitious Bahraini talents who carry diverse experiences in education, financial and banking sciences, business administration, human development and community work.
Bardestani extended his special thanks to the Ministry of Social Development, the Ministry of Education, the Bahrain Institute for Banking and Financial Studies, and the University of Chicago for their support in establishing the association, which is the first for university graduates outside the United States of America, stressing that this support reflects their interest in empowering civil society associations and encouraging initiatives led by graduates to serve the community and develop national capabilities.
Bardestani also expressed his deep appreciation to the founding members of the association and members of the Board of Directors for the trust they gave him to assume the presidency of the association in its first session, stressing that this confidence represents a strong motivation to work hard to establish solid foundations for the association and ensure its launch in the required manner to achieve the aspirations of all graduates.
Bardestani indicated that membership in the association will soon be opened to all graduates of DePaul University in the Kingdom of Bahrain, who number more than 500 graduates after completing some administrative and organizational procedures. He called on all graduates to join and contribute to building an entity that represents their aspirations, supports their knowledge and professional careers, and enhances communication between them with the aim of developing their skills and exchanging experiences among them in order to develop their presence in various fields.
