The famous American YouTube personality “Miss Rachel” caught attention during the 2025 Glamor magazine awards ceremony, with a look described as “humanitarian” on the red carpet at the Plaza Hotel in New York City yesterday evening, Tuesday.
Miss Rachel wore a recycled dress embroidered with drawings created by children from Gaza, each of which embodies a story and suffering from their daily reality.
Miss Rachel, whose real name is Rachel Griffin-Accorso, carried pictures of the children who helped design the dress, and showed them to the cameras, saying: “I think about all the children there, and what we can do for them… I carry their stories in my heart.”
This appearance came during the celebration of “Glamour” magazine, which announced the selection of “Miss Rachel” among the winners of the Women of the Year Awards 2025, in honor of her role in supporting children around the world, especially in Gaza, through her famous educational platform on YouTube, which is followed by millions of children and families around the world.
From a teacher to a global phenomenon
Miss Rachel’s journey began as a mother in Maine, where she posted educational singing clips on YouTube to help her son, who suffered from delayed speech. Since then, her simple project has turned into a massive media empire.
Her YouTube channel received billions of views, she published 9 books, launched her own line of games, and presented a children’s program on Netflix that achieved more than 53 million views, becoming the largest launch of children’s content in the history of the platform.
But what made her win the Glamor Award was not only her professional success, according to critics, but her ability to use her fame to defend children’s rights around the world. She emphasizes that her educational message “does not stop with the children of our country… but rather includes every child in this world.”
A dress that tells stories
The dress that “Miss Rachel” wore at the ceremony was not just a piece of fashion, but rather a humanitarian message, according to what “Miss Rachel” confirmed. The dress was recycled and decorated with embroideries of drawings sent by children from Gaza, with their names written in Arabic next to it.
Miss Rachel explained that she “knows the story of every drawing” and chose the dress to show the world the suffering of children and make their voices heard.
Humanitarian support despite controversy
Miss Rachel is known for her stances in support of children in conflict zones, especially in Gaza, despite the criticism she receives from some supporters of Israel who accused her of injecting politics into children’s content.
Earlier this year, Miss Rachel filmed content with three-year-old Rahaf, who lost her legs as a result of the war on Gaza, after she was evacuated through the Medical Relief Foundation for Palestinian Children.
Despite the controversy, Miss Rachel insists that defending children’s rights “should not define religion, color or nation,” stressing that adults “fail children when they ignore these rights.”
