Croatia’s national team has officially qualified for the finals World Cup 2026after defeating the Faroe Islands team with a score of 3-1, to reserve a pass and become the third European team to reach the World Cup after England and France.
Croatia national team qualifies for the 2026 World Cup
The Croatian national team won the top spot in its group in the European qualifiers with 19 points with a match remaining. To confirm its presence in the World Cup for the seventh time in its history and the fourth in a row, which reflects the continuity of one of the strongest European teams in the last decade.
Dalic makes history
Qualification was not just a new achievement for Croatia, but it was a historic milestone for its coach Zlatko Dalic, who became the coach who led the Croatian national team to qualify for the World Cup the most in history, three times in a row:
- 2018 World Cup – reached the final
- World Cup 2022 – achieved third place
- World Cup 2026 – a new qualification that cements its legend
Dalic surpassed all his predecessors and established himself as the most successful coach in the history of Croatian football.
Continuation of a global football project
The qualification strengthened the position of the current Croatian generation, which, despite the changes, proved that it is still capable of competing at the highest level, thanks to the consistency of the playing philosophy and technical stability under the leadership of Dalic.
The team is now preparing for a new stage of preparation for the tournament, with ambitions to repeat the achievements of Russia 2018 and Qatar 2022, and to go far in the next World Cup hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico.
