Commander of King Hamad University Hospital and consultant pediatrician, Colonel Doctor Sheikh Salman bin Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, said that Bahraini Doctor’s Day is a celebration of those who carried the message of healing and provided honorable examples of dedication and giving, stressing that this day reflects the high status enjoyed by the Bahraini doctor in light of the support of the wise leadership, and confirms the Kingdom’s commitment to building an advanced health system that elevates human status as a national priority.
He pointed out that the health sector witnessed, thanks to the enlightened vision and continuous support, a qualitative development that strengthened the country’s medical readiness and opened wide horizons for the Bahraini doctor for creativity, progress and international excellence in various specialties.
King Hamad University Hospital, one of the hospitals affiliated with the Royal Medical Services, is located in Muharraq Governorate. It was built on an area of 64 thousand square meters and consists of three main buildings, each building consisting of four floors connected to each other by two main corridors.
The hospital is considered one of the leading medical edifices in the Kingdom of Bahrain, as the hospital provides comprehensive medical services to citizens, residents and visitors. It is equipped with advanced technologies and includes many medical and technical teams with long experience.
The hospital includes many departments and wings, including the Operations Department, which contains nine main operating rooms, intensive care units, an intensive care unit for premature infants and newborns, and an emergency medicine department for adults and children. It also includes many wards for men and women according to medical specialties. As well as a unit for daily cases, a unit for physical and aquatic therapy, a unit for compressed oxygen therapy and burn treatment, and outpatient clinics departments, all equipped with the latest modern medical devices and technologies.
