Major General Amr Hanafi, Governor of the Red Sea, announced that all executive agencies had raised the level of preparedness, based on the reports of the General Meteorological Authority, which warned of rain in the cities of Halayeb and Shalateen.
The General Meteorological Authority announced its forecast of chances of light rain falling in areas of Halayeb and Shalatin at intermittent intervals.
Coordination was made with the National Emergency and Public Safety Network Center, and city mayors and directors of vital facilities (electricity, water, sanitation, roads, hospitals, ambulance, and social solidarity) were directed to prepare in operating rooms and to intervene quickly in the event of any emergency.
The readiness of relief and emergency equipment was also reviewed and provided in appropriate quantities, and coordination was made with electricity and water companies to confront possible malfunctions, remove obstacles from flood drains and drains, secure lighting poles and advertising banners against the winds, as well as intensify field follow-up from emergency teams in all cities.
