The investigation authorities in Giza decided to imprison the blogger Nisreen Hegazy for 4 days pending investigation, after she was arrested on charges of publishing pictures and clips indecent to public modesty on social media sites.

The security services monitored the circulation of a number of clips in which the accused appears performing inappropriate movements and gestures, with the aim of increasing viewership rates and achieving financial profits from electronic platforms.
After codifying the procedures, she was arrested in the Hadayek Al-Ahram area, and 3 mobile phones containing graphic materials were found in her possession, confirming her involvement in publishing violating content.
The investigating authorities listened to the accused’s statements about the content of the clips and her goal in publishing them, and also ordered an examination of her electronic accounts to take the necessary legal measures.
