Under the chairmanship of Ahmed bin Salman Al-Musallam, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Parliamentary Division, the Kingdom of Bahrain will host, on Thursday, November 13, 2025, the nineteenth regular meeting of the heads of the Shura, Representatives, National, and Nation Councils of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, which is held within the framework of enhancing parliamentary cooperation and integration among the Council countries, and unifying legislative positions and visions regarding regional and international issues of common interest.
The delegation of the Kingdom of Bahrain is headed by Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, Speaker of the Shura Council.
The main meeting is preceded by the twenty-fourth meeting of the Parliamentary Coordination and External Relations Committee on the morning of Tuesday, November 11, to discuss the topics on the agenda and review reports and recommendations in preparation for presenting them to the regular meeting for adoption in the final decisions.
The agenda of the nineteenth meeting includes a number of important topics, most notably: the report of the eighteenth meeting, recommendations of a symposium on the legislative role of the Gulf legislative councils in the governance of artificial intelligence, discussing common topics between the Gulf legislative councils, discussing ways to develop parliamentary cooperation with the European Parliament, strengthening cooperation with the parliaments of Latin American and Caribbean countries, a proposal for the General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council to join as an observer to the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), and strengthening cooperation with the Parliament of Ukraine.
This meeting embodies the pioneering role of the Kingdom of Bahrain in supporting the process of joint Gulf parliamentary work, and enhancing paths of cooperation and coordination between the legislative councils of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, which contributes to unifying positions and visions towards Gulf, Arab and international issues, and supporting integration efforts and legislative development in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.
