Hatem Khaimi, President of the Saudi Al-Wahda Club, praised the performance Muhammad Awad Zamalek club goalkeeper, as he wished to sign a contract with him if it were not for the presence of the Al-Wahda team in the Yellow League, stressing that if the team advances to the Roshen League next season, Awad will be the team’s first signing.
Statements by Hatem Khaymi, head of the unit, about Muhammad Awad
Hatem Khaimi said in statements to Cairo 24: Awad is a great goalkeeper and I know him well. He succeeded in coming up with 13 clean sheets with Al-Wahda Saudi Arabia when he was a player within the team’s ranks, and he was one of the best goalkeepers in the league at that time.
Khemi added: Awad had a prominent role in Zamalek’s championships in recent years. He is an essential element in achieving titles, and despite that, he was subjected to great injustice recently. Everyone criticizes him for any mistake, even though goalkeeper mistakes happen all over the world.
He continued: In my opinion, Awad deserved to be the starting goalkeeper for the Egyptian national team in the 2018 World Cup at the expense of El-Shenawy, and he was the best goalkeeper in Egypt during that season, and he did not cause any crisis.
He concluded his statements by talking about the possibility of contracting with the player, saying: Unfortunately, contracting with foreign goalkeepers is prohibited in the Yellow League, but if we advance to the Rushen League next season, Awad is the first player I will sign.
