
The students of the Arabian Gulf University from the Sultanate of Oman celebrated the Omani National Day in an atmosphere full of the spirit of Gulf brotherhood, with the participation of their colleagues from the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, in an event attended by Mr. Faisal bin Harib Al Busaidi, the Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Kingdom of Bahrain, in addition to a remarkable presence from members of the academic and administrative bodies and university students.
In his speech on this occasion, the Omani ambassador expressed his pride in the achievements achieved by the Sultanate under the wise leadership of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq the Great – may God protect him – stressing his pride in the students’ participation in this dear national event, and his pride in the academic excellence provided by the Omani students at the Arabian Gulf University, and in what the university has contributed over its more than four-decade journey in preparing cadres. Qualified to serve the renaissance of the countries of the region.
His Excellency appreciated the efforts of the university administration and its president in providing a knowledgeable environment conducive to innovation and creativity, stressing that the Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman gives the students full care and support, and that its doors are open to them at all times. He described the university as a “distinguished scientific edifice” that contributed to building Gulf human capabilities, and assuring the students that they are “the hope upon which future aspirations are built.”
For his part, His Excellency the President of the Arabian Gulf University, Dr. Saad Dr. Al Fahid said that celebrating the Omani National Day embodies the values of Gulf unity and recalls the glorious history of Oman, praising the leadership of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq – may God protect him – and the efforts of the people of Oman to achieve further progress and prosperity.
His Excellency pointed out that this occasion enhances the spirit of cooperation between the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council under wise leaderships keen to consolidate the bonds of mutual solidarity, stressing the continuation of cooperation and integration in the fields of education and scientific research, and appreciating the efforts of Omani students in academic achievement, and graduates who hold leadership positions in various sectors.
Dr. recalled. Al Fuhid, in his speech, stated the generous grant provided by Sultan Qaboos bin Said – may God rest his soul – to the Arabian Gulf University in 1994 to support the field of desert agriculture, stressing its prominent impact in promoting scientific research and Gulf academic cooperation, noting the achievements of the Sultan Qaboos Chair for Desert Agriculture, which established a specialized research center to develop modern agricultural techniques, especially soilless agriculture technology, based on His Majesty’s vision of Preserving natural resources and managing them in a scientific manner that ensures their sustainability for future generations.
The ceremony witnessed an exhibition organized by Omani students that embodied the Omani heritage and identity in an atmosphere full of pride, national belonging, and Gulf unity.
